About Us

Welcome to Holy Spirit Academy

Holy Spirit Academy is a 9th through 12th grade High School located in Monticello, MN, with a vibrant Catholic intellectual community.  Founded in 2012 by a dedicated group of parents, we have successfully graduated more than 60 students. Parents want the very best for their children so Holy Spirit Academy is dedicated to providing excellent faculty and designing a rigorous curriculum to fully educate our pupils.  Our faculty and staff take an oath of fidelity to the Magisterium and understand their roles extend beyond the classroom to forming students in faith and virtue.  Our integrated curriculum demands academic discipline while cultivating a devotion to Christ and His Church.

Holy Spirit Academy is located on the campus of St. Henry Catholic Church in Monticello, a northwestern suburb of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro Area. We draw students from as far west as St. Cloud to as far east as Coon Rapids. For lighter travel, Families coordinate carpools to and from school and between extracurricular activities.

Venerable Fulton Sheen

Bishop Sheen’s commitment to authentic, classical, Christ-centered education exemplifies the mission of Holy Spirit Academy. We seek to embody these words of Bishop Sheen on the task of education: “The Christ-mind, looking at the field of education, insists not only on training for the intellect but also demands training of the will. It adds to the purely worldly end of educating the Divine goal.”

Venerable Fulton J. Sheen exemplified a studious and prayerful life devoted to preaching Truth to the modern world. Born on May 6, 1895 in the humble town of El Paso, Illinois, Archbishop Sheen pursued education even as a young boy. By the age of 28, he was ordained to the priesthood and held Ph.Ds in both philosophy and theology. He taught at the Catholic University in Washington D.C for many years until he was appointed Director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith and made auxiliary Bishop of New York. He dedicated his life to bringing Christ to those who did not know Him or had forgotten Him.
