Credentials

Accreditation

Holy Spirit Academy is one of only three schools in Minnesota accredited by The National Association of Private and Catholic Schools (NAPCIS), an association founded in 1995 dedicated to strengthening and promoting Catholic education through accreditation.

Standards of excellence according to NAPCIS:

“NAPCIS member schools have as their mission the salvation of souls and academic excellence. Students who attend a school accredited by NAPCIS will profit from a program and curriculum designed to realize the school’s mission. The study of math, science, literature, history, and language while training students in the reflective activity that requires no further purpose, is a means to an end. Education should train students to think intelligently, reason critically and wisely, and to express themselves with clarity and competence. The responsibility, therefore, of the educated person is the responsibility of influence and the proper use of that influence in the personal, professional, and social sphere in which he/she lives.”

Canonical Status

In September of 2020, Holy Spirit Academy was granted Canonical Status by the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis:

“Holy Spirit Academy is granted the Roman Catholic nomination, with its rights and obligations, and is united now with the Church in St. Paul and Minneapolis in the essential and saving mission of Catholic education.”

-Bishop Andrew H. Cozzens, Sept. 29, 2020

In union with the Catholic Church and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit Academy strives to help parents deliver on their pledge to provide their children with an integrated education in the Catholic faith and serve the parishes of the region.

“United as we are now in name, let us endeavor together to provide families in the region served by Holy Spirit Academy with the best possible High School option.”
