Mission & Vision

Mission Statement

Grounded in the Truth of Christ, Holy Spirit Academy educates students in grades 9-12, preparing them for life, and discovering their unique God-given purpose through an affordable, integrated academic program in the Catholic tradition.

Vision Statement

Holy Spirit Academy is a faithful, affordable, accessible Catholic High School fostering the spiritual and academic advancement of each student, while emphasizing the ultimate goal of eternal life with Christ.  The Academy culture highlights the beauty and joy of the Catholic Faith preparing students for life as a whole person, while fostering activities outside the classroom to help students discover their God-given talents.

Philosophy Statement

Our Academy adopts an academic program with an integrated course of studies, exposing the student to perennial questions and fundamental truth. Integration includes showing the cross-disciplinary nature of learning between subjects and furthermore understanding that there is a hierarchy in the order of learning. This academic program demands discipline and results in exceptional competence in collegiate and post-secondary studies. All modes of teaching are employed at Holy Spirit Academy, as fits the subject. Seminar-style discussions in the Socratic method are commonplace for humanities and theology courses while math and science classes employ interactive exercises and labs. Small class sizes ensure that every student is engaged in the learning process. In conformity with the teaching of the Church, Holy Spirit Academy exists to assist parents in the education of their children. It is Holy Spirit Academy’s conviction that the very best faculty is required to execute the solemn duty of educating our pupils as their parents would wish.

Land Donation

Holy Spirit Academy was excited to announce a major land donation at our 2020 Virtual Harvest Banquet. We trust that the Holy Spirit inspired the right people to make the land donation come to fruition.  Father Michael Becker has been an instrumental and faithful guide in the process.  Hilmer Hartman, the land donor, had been a lifelong farmer in the Dayton area and a faithful and involved citizen in the community. He had long desired a Catholic high school to built on his property.  His donation of 95 acres was finally received and recorded on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, May 13th of 2020. Hilmer died two days later on the Feast of St. Isidore the Farmer, May 15th.  Holy Spirit Academy is grateful to Hilmer for his generous gift and to have the opportunity to consider this donation as part of our strategic planning as we move into the future and consider the school’s needs in the coming years with increasing enrollment. The land location is approximately 17 miles from Holy Spirit Academy and is adjacent to the communities of Otsego and Rogers and across the Mississippi River from several North Metro communities like Ramsey, Anoka, and Coon Rapids that could be additionally served by our growing school. The Archdiocese has been made aware of this donation.
