Nancy Hanowski

Chairman

Mrs. Hanowski graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering and successfully worked in the industry at Pratt & Whitney, GE, and Boeing for seventeen years. She earned her MBA at The Hartford Graduate Center and also excelled in the medical device industry for Guidant and St. Jude Medical for many years prior to retiring to care for her elderly parents. She manages a busy apartment complex and is dedicated to the Pro-life cause and her family, which includes a foster daughter of four years and a husband of twenty-five. She is a daily communicant and weekly adorer at her parish of Epiphany in Coon Rapids, and has taught faith formation in the past. She is grateful for God’s loving Providence in her life.

Mike Bangasser

Mr. Bangasser is President of Best Technology, an industrial process equipment sales business. He is also the Founder of Marketing Zone, a B2B marketing agency focused on lead generation, SEO and thought leadership for industrial and precision manufacturers. He received his Mechanical Engineering undergraduate degree from Marquette University and attended the MBA program at the Carlson School of Management – University of Minnesota. Mike received the Leading with Faith award in 2018. This honor is given to men and women who recognize God’s presence in their work, as well as in their colleagues and clients, and integrate faith into the workplace culture. He and his wife, Nicole, have 2 daughters and are parishioners of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in Medina, where he leads the career transitions group. In his free time, Mike enjoys traveling, watching hockey and being outdoors, especially boating.

Cory Sommer

Mr. Sommer graduated from Northern State University with a BS in Management/Marketing. He currently is a lead Application/Infrastructure IT systems analyst with North Memorial Health. He resides in St. Michael with his family and is an active member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Michael Parish community.  He has a passion to see the liberal arts curriculum of Holy Spirit Academy be made available to as many high school students in the northwest metro area as possible.

Jay Vogel

Mr. Vogel has been a supporter of Holy Spirit Academy since its founding and is now serving as one of its newest board members. He brings extensive construction knowledge and experience to his role. He currently serves as Senior Vice President at Bradbury Stamm Construction after 29 years with the company. His main focus within the construction industry has been during the pre-construction phase working closely with owners, architects, and engineers to establish budgets and schedules and to ensure projects are successful.  He holds a B.S. in Industrial Technology / Construction Management from Bemidji State University.  His family, wife Amy and five kids, live in St. Cloud and are active members of St. Mary’s Cathedral and the St. Cloud Diocese. Other interests include family time up north, hunting, boating, and working on home and investment property projects.

Andy Weitnauer

Mr. Weitnauer has an MBA from Carlson School of Management and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is the Chairman of Wits Group, a real estate services holding company, and is a shareholder and Senior Advisor for NFP, an employee benefits brokerage and consulting firm. His family, wife Laura and four kids, live in Elk River and attend St. Andrew, where he serves on the School Advisory Board, Parish Finance Committee, and helps with their Legacy Endowment Fund.

Tom Winkels

Treasurer

Mr. Winkels is the retired principal of the Advanced Wealth Management Group, a Minneapolis-based wealth coaching firm. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas and later served as the President of the school’s Alumni Association and as the Alumni Representative on the University of St. Thomas Board of Trustees. Mr. Winkels also earned his Certified Financial Planner® designation from the College for Financial Planning. He is married to his spouse, Rose, and together they have five children. He is a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in Medina where his family has been very active over the years. His interests include family gatherings, the great outdoors, Indy Car racing, and rowing.

Tom Wratkowski

Tom Wratkowski, based in Minneapolis, has recently retired as a General Counsel at Kraus-Anderson Companies, Inc. Tom brings 40 years of experience at Kraus-Anderson and holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from University of Minnesota – Twin Cities offering a robust skill set that includes Construction, Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Construction Management, Contract Negotiation and more. His expertise is beneficial to HSA for exploring the legal parameters around the gifted land in Dayton.

Melissa Zachman

Mrs. Zachman holds a M.A. in Theology and Christian Ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville as well as an M.A in Educational Leadership from the University of Notre Dame. She currently serves Saint Michael Catholic School in Saint Michael, MN as the Director of Catholic Identity and Mission. Most of her days are spent instructing students on St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. She has experience serving Catholic education as a high school Theology teacher in Atlanta, and as a K-8 principal here in Minnesota. Melissa and her husband, Kevin, are members of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Saint Michael where Melissa serves as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
